Let's walk just a few blocks over from
Sunny's apartment at The Mark Hotel and
look in on Hope at her
luxe fantasy apartment building called
luxe fantasy apartment building called
~ "The City Girl." ~
Early on this November morning,
Early on this November morning,
the sun is awakening the city
with the promise of a
delectable and glamourous
day to come ...
delectable and glamourous
day to come ...
As Hope opens her eyes to the sun sparkling
on the chandelier drops above her bed ...
... she looks forward to the day stretching before her ...
as Kathryn Hepburn said ...
"Never lose sight of the fact that just being is fun."
And if ever there was a girl
that enjoyed "just being"
{in the city, in particular}
it is Hope!
She throws handfuls of fun
into each day in every way she can ...
Autumn, with its crisp leaves and burnished color,
simply adds to the glamour of her days ...
And today is the kind of day that
Hope adores ...
one without obligations ...
a day that's an empty giftbox
to fill up as she pleases ...
one without obligations ...
a day that's an empty giftbox

What better way to start the day than by walking ...
... straight to her favorite upper east side cappuccino ...
at a charming place that's even a
favorite on Gossip Girl ...

she loves leisurely browsing the stores of the city
when its early enough to take her time
and gather ideas for things that are

On this Autumn day as she's shopping,
Hope finds a little present for herself ...
Paris Hangover by Kirsten Lobe ...
a book about a girl from New York
that finds herself in Paris dating handsome frenchmen ..
an ooh la la perfect book to read
since she just came back from a Grande Paris Adventure
with fellow illustrated girls Aimee, Belle & Alex!

Sandy, I simply love those holiday illustrations! And how much fun that scarf is. Hope you have a wonderful week! :)
Ada
Veronica: Thanks lovely! xoxo
Layers and Layers: So glad you love the cards, Sharon ... and I love the bangle too and it's now on MY Christmas list! I LOVED YOUR SWEET COMMENT: "I'd love to have a Christmas as seen through my eyes ... quite magical." The word "magical" seems to come up frequently lately ... I smiled when I saw your comment because when I delivered the custom artwork of the outside of a hotel at Christmas yesterday, they said "we have to thank you for bringing so much magic to the hotel." I collect those comments like jewels collected in a special box on my dressing table ... thank you. xoxo
LV: Aww, thank you, darling! So very happy you enjoy the posts. The Santa Baby card is Ooh La Frou Frou girl Cherie with her tree decorated with lots of tiny high heels! ;) xoxo
Fash Boulevard: Thanks for stopping by, lovely. Glad you enjoyed it and I'll be dropping by soon ;) xoxo
Ivana: Hi darling Ivana ... thank you! So glad you love the holiday cards ... one of the joys of being an artist is that when I'm working on an illustration, I'm actually "there" in the scene mentally while I'm creating it ... so I get to be shopping in the city A LOT with Ooh La Frou Frou! ;) xoxo
Classiq: Thanks darling, so glad you enjoyed them. I loved the scarf too, it's so cute ... would be cute tied to a purse where you could see the cute shoes! xoxo
Gorgeous and unique cards! I want them!! I'm doing an awesome Sonia Kashuk giveaway on my page. Stop by and check it out!!

Sandy!!!
Oh, this is so fun. I literally felt like one of your glamour girls this weekend, as Grant and I went in for a day/night for an early anniversary. Boot shopping at BG followed by champagne and snacks upstairs at the restaurant/bar. Grant insisted I look for a dress at Barneys for an upcoming black tie and wouldn't you know the perfect Derek Lam was found! Dinner in Tribeca followed by a night at the Ritz. The next day a walk through Central Park, which looked just like your photos!
Now, I'm looking forward to spending time there during the holidays!
LOVEEEE the new card. You just capture the essence of the season!
xoxo Elizabeth
