Charming

Hello Fabulous Ooh La Frou Frou City Girls!
I hope that all of you had a charming weekend!
The word
CHARMING
is used to describe so many things ...
such as a place (Paris?) ...
an item (an absolutely charming dress!) ...
or a quality in a person (I wish I had her charm!)
What says "charming" to you?

"Charm is a glow within a woman
that casts a most becoming light on others."
John Mason Brown

~ What is Charming to Me? ~
The quality that either a person, place or thing
possesses that makes me feel
utterly taken, happy, cherished and inspired.
In a person, it's usually unassuming.
Here is a small handful of some of the things that
I find charming ...

Someone that is witty and makes me laugh
 is absolutely charming.
~
The way a man's eyes crinkle in the corners
when he smiles is deadly charming.
~
Ballet slippers with little perfectly-shaped bows are charming.
~
Orange and pink is such a charming color combination.

You can see that this could go on forever!
I bet you have some fabulous additions .. I'd love to hear them!

My thoughts are of "charm" this week
because a "charming" new Valentine
 has been added to the

is right around the corner,
just a quick reminder of a few other darling

  1. It was a pleasure reading this post. I just bought myself a white coat with blac buttons like the one you featured. I'm going to wear a shot of tulle ruffle underneath . . . so cute!

  2. What a darling post Sandy! The images portray exactly the feel of the post as usual. Charm is certainly a gift and bringing that to a room or space is lovely. It's a bright light, a gleam in an eye or just laughter. :)

Have a great and glamorous week! xoxo

  3. Charming to me has everything to do with a person. His or her appearance, their manners and personality. Knowing exactly when to say what to make others feel a little warm inside. Either with a joke, a wise word or even with a gesture. Great post Sandy :) Your charm card looks fab.

I am loving that cream coat w/the peak of tulle underneath and the quote regarding a ladies dress. I want to THANK YOU for the lovely package I received in the mail this weekend. I adore my Valentine Card. I want to frame it! HAHAHA It is gorgeous! I showed it to my mom and she can't get over the beautiful details. I saw Alex's thank you pic and everything looked lovely. Thank you so much! I will be spotlighting your Shoo-In Card next week (My Sweet Treats). Again, I thank you so much! You made a great start to my week. ((HUG))

  10. Your posts are amazing!!! Such a delight and joy and so much fun. This one especially! I agree with Kim – YOU are charming!

Your new card is fabulous, too.

I love the definition you have quoted. Charm has to do with ease and grace and style, with lighthearted joy and appreciation of one's surroundings. You can't be truly charming if you are unhappy yourself.

Thank you for another lovely adventure!

  19. I agree with the first quote, brilliant. Your cards are SO charming! I wouldn't send them to anyone, I would just keep them all...

  20. Lovely illustrations as always. Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn were charming. A little girl dressed up, trying to imitate her mother's style, there are so many examples, but I guess that final quote says it all. I hope you're having a wonderful week, Sandy! xo

  21. Sandy,
You have captured "charming" here with this charming post! And, I love both the quotes - the one on dressing by Edith Head (the great Hollywood costume designer) and the other about how it makes others feel.

Aren't you drawn to those people that make you feel your best around them?!

I adore all of these Valentine cards - you truly have created a fantasy world I wish I could live in - if just for a day!

    xoxo Elizabeth
