Hello Girls, It's Violet!
So nice to finally meet you!
If you're new to the blog, let me quickly explain what it's all about.
There are eight Ooh La Frou Frou girls that star in the
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection card line.
One of the eight girlfriends writes a post to the blog each Monday,
talking about WHATEVER we'd like ...
and we LOVE it!
Occasionally, the artist, herself, will write a post about something
on another day of the week, such as a special giveaway, etc.,
but Mondays are reserved for the eight Ooh La Frou Frou girls
to visit with you!

We eight girls are all different,
but we're all city girls.
Oh ... and we're all stylish in our own way ...
just like all of you!
Okay, so that's the quick background ...
now on to MY very first post!
Let me tell you a little about me, Violet.
I guess the first thing you should know
is that I'm an interior designer --
if you put something in front of me,
I'll think of a way to make it a little more glamorous.
Like all of the other girls, I love the city.
What do I love about the city?
Well, I love the fact that
you never know who you'll see or what you'll see.
I can walk out my door on any day of the week
and see a crowd gathered on a corner
and realize that they're filming a scene from a movie.
I love all of the city architecture.
And I love the surprising little things you see as you walk along,
like these pretty yellow umbrellas --
not on the ground where you'd expect to see them --
but high above the people on the sidewalk below.
By the way, that's me walking by in the yellow dress!
(Thanks for walking with me on a little tour of the city.)
I actually LOVE the busy streets.
Yes, that's me again in the pink jacket!
But if I'm in the mood for green, I can easily find it.
I'm actually lucky enough to live in a townhouse
with a rooftop garden!
(I know, I know, I can hardly believe it myself!)
I set out to find a place with a rooftop garden
when I realized how much I loved looking down on the city streets.
Each time I'd be dining in a restaurant with a city view below,
I'd just fall in love.
I'll give all of you a tour of my townhouse and the rooftop garden
at some point.
In fact, sometime I'll host a little virtual
rooftop party and invite all of my
Glamorous Girlfriends ... you!
There are some very breathtaking townhouses in the city.
Being a designer, I've been lucky enough
to have seen the inside of a few.
These are some of the residences I adore.
but we're all city girls.

The views from the interiors of some penthouses
are just too beautiful to believe.
Like the view from this penthouse on Fifth Avenue.

Or maybe you'd like a Park Avenue Penthouse. I adore this one ...
and look at its fabulous view!
These interior shots of New York penthouses
are from Sotheby's --
a fun little website to browse through and dream!
And, now, I've saved the best for last!
I can't end my city post
during the month of October
without talking about Halloween in the City!
You never know what you'll see in the city
at Halloween!
New York's Village Halloween Parade and Street Pagaent
takes place on Halloween night!
It stretches more than a mile and draws two-million spectators,
fifty-thousand costumed participants, dancers, artists and circus performers.
It boasts of dozens of floats bearing live bands
and other musical and performing acts
and a worldwide television audience of 100 million.
It's sometimes called New York's Carnival.
The parade even features giant rod puppets run by teams of puppeteers!
And all over the city,
Autumn and Halloween decorations abound.
I've dressed up the front of my townhouse entrance
especially for the Ooh La Frou Frou Collection's
fabulous Halloween Card,

OooOooo, how I love this post! (the entire blog makes me smile so much) I adore NYC -- before I ever visited, I pictured a massive, modern city, but was happily surprised to find so many older and beautiful buildings of character. The row homes are most gorgeous -- very, very chic! Would love a tour through :)
Enjoy the weekend*
xoxo
A note from Violet for Sarah Klassen:
Hi Sarah! I know, New York has such a nice mix of both modern and classic older architecture. I love it! It has a piece of my heart! Thanks for your comment & tomorrow our friend, Ooh La Frou Frou girl Alex will tell about a party she's planning ... ;)
