Snowflakes, PJ's and Glamour

This week's post
is a little holiday story
about a glamorous gift-exchange party
Ooh La Frou Frou girl style.
And you, darling Ooh La Frou Frou fans,
are invited to join in the fun!
Are you ready?

Snowflakes had been falling all day in the city

and left a sparkling blanket of white over all

Images above via

when
seven Ooh La Frou Frou girls
opened their door
to a hand-delivered invitation,
along with an accompanying gift-wrapped box
tied with a velvet ribbon.

An invitation from Ooh La Frou Frou girl Violet
was something to be excited about!
She would be hosting this year's
gift-exchange party at her swanky apartment
and it looked as if it would be a
glamorous pajama party!

Each Ooh La Frou Frou girl
opened her package to find
one of four pajama designs
from
Soma Intimates
with instructions that they should
come to Violet's apartment wearing their PJ's
and bringing their overnight bag and gifts to exchange.
The PJ designs were perfect for glamorous-inclined girls,
as they were sprinkled with illustrations
of diamonds, pearls, hats, eyelashes and party dresses!

And on the evening of the party,
seven girls stood before taxis in pajamas
with overnight cases in hand
to be whisked to the east side of town
to interior designer Violet's apartment.

You see,  Ooh La Frou Frou girl Violet
knew how to throw a party.
She was well known for
her fabulous rooftop cocktail parties
in the summer with the city glittering below.

So, it was with great anticipation
that the girls headed into the evening like
seven pajama-clad Cinderellas
heading to the ball.

When the girls arrived, fabulous smells surrounded them
from the catered feast awaiting them inside.
Violet took their coats and bags and
led them to their first cocktail of the evening.

The girls had their choice of two "snowy white" cocktails.
The first was a White Cosmo, the makings of which
was set up on a silver tray stand
by the windows overlooking the city.

WHITE COSMO RECIPE
5  oz. white cranberry juice
2 oz orange flavored vodka
1/2 oz sweetened lime juice
ice cubes
lime twist (to garnish)
6 cranberries skewered on a toothpick
Combine all ingredients,
except garnish and cranberry toothpick,
in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour into a martini glass.
Garnish with the twist and cranberry skewer.
[note: a splash of ginger-ale can be added
for added sparkle!)

The second cocktail
was set up (whimsically) under a wreath of mistletoe,
as it was called "Lover's Kiss."

Image: personal photo, Recipe via

LOVER'S KISS RECIPE
1/2 oz (14 ml) amaretto
1/2 oz (14 ml) brandy
1/2 oz (14 ml) creme de cacao (brown)
1 oz (28 ml) light cream
Shake all ingredients
with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.
Garnish with sprinkle of cocoa powder
and a marashino cherry.

Laughter and Christmas music filled the apartment
as the eight girls together
toasted and nibbled away
as trays of goodies
were passed all around!
Festive holiday music surrounded them.
A roaring fire glowed in the fireplace.
The spectacular holiday scene below from
Violet's floor to ceiling windows
was mesmerizing,
twinkling lights and miniature taxis scooting by.

Even
Cherie's new pug Little Luxe,
Hope's poodle Olive
and Aimee's yorkie Paree
enjoyed the exclusive girl time.

Suddenly there was a knock
and a surprise from Violet
walked through the door
and Violet's apartment soon became
a luxury spa!
Facials, and mani-pedi's for all!

Later, after the girls were all were glamoured up,
they gathered  in Violet's comfortable living room with
cappuccinos and hot chocolates
and there were lots of oohs and ahhs as the gifts were opened.
Below are just a couple treasures each girl received:

AIMEE
is the lover of all things french and one of the things she received
was a darling miniature of Laduree delicacies from Paris Miniatures

and several girls went in together and got her
something on her "covet" list ...
a Ercuis macaron stand!

ALEX
loves to cook, bake and entertain
and one of her presents was a set of
fab Kate Spade cocktail plates

and another was three month's worth of
Jean-Yves Charon's authentic croissants
from Williams-Sonoma

CHERIE
the fashion model
received the
Guerlain Or Imperial Sublime Radiant Powder
for Face and Body as one of her gifts.
A violet spritz leaves a sexy iridescent
copper veil on legs, arms and decolletage
so she can feel sunny even in the winter.

and the
Smythson Amber leather diary
will help her record her photoshoot appointments in style

HOPE
is all about the glamour
and bracelets were on her wish list.
One of her gifts was
the Soliel bracelet from J. Crew

and another was the
metal, glass pearl and crystal bracelet
from Lee Angel.

TIFFANY
is all about Audrey Hepburn style.
She loved her
sailor-inspired top from
Southmoonunder

and this feather headband
from Jennifer Behr

SUNNY
is the California girl all about pool and beach and she
loved her brand new strapless smocked dress
she could wear alone or as a bathing suit coverup
from Victoria's Secret

and her fabulous new
seaglass necklace from Beach Glass Gone Wild
 is perfect for her!

BELLE
is our southern girl turned to chic city girl
and she loved her
Ruffle-Shoulder Cardigan from
Banana Republic

and her favorite sweet iced tea
next summer wil be perfect
in her new iced tea glasses from Mikasa

and our hostess VIOLET
was overjoyed with her
Banana Republic
Vintage-Inspired Earrings

and her Banana Republic
faux fur trimmed gloves!

After the girls finally cleared away the sea of wrapping paper,
what party would be complete
without finishing it off with a favorite
holiday girl movie?

Thanks for joining the girls
for their fun holiday party, everyone!
We hope that your own
parties are just as much fun!

Ooh La Frou Frou
will be taking the next few weeks off
in order to enjoy time with our
family over the holiday.
We will be back the first Monday
in the new year
with more fun and excitement!
Happy Holidays,
everyone!
