A Glamorous New Ooh La Frou Frou Year!

We at Ooh La Frou Frou
hope that everyone had a fabulous holiday season
and we're so excited to have stepped into
a brand new and exciting year together!
A sincere thanks to you all
for making Ooh La Frou Frou's first year
so much fun!
In 2011,
we will be starting the process
to get the card line
into stores nationwide!

What better way to start this new year
than to hear from the mouths of the
Ooh La Frou Frou girls
what their
New Year's Resolutions
are!
But a post with all EIGHT girls
would be an itsy too long, no?

Sooooo ......
Hope, Alex, Cherie and Sunny
will share their resolutions with us this week
and Violet, Tiffany, Belle and Aimee
will share theirs next week!

So ... Hope, girl, do tell us your new year's resolution!

Hi there girls!
Thanks for joining me for my part of
our "New Year's Resolutions" celebration!

For my resolution, I'm doing a good deed !
Don't laugh ... it's true!!
I resolve to find a happy home
for all of my clothes ...
a fabulous new dressing room, of course!
My poor lovely clothes have been crammed into my closet
for so long and that's just no way for them to live!
They can hardly breath, poor things.

I've always wanted a dressing room
so I've cleared out a second bedroom in my city apartment
and it's sitting there empty ... just waiting!
Glamorous dressing rooms are like
personal little jewel boxes!
I've been clipping pictures of dressing rooms
 out of magazines
and making tons of notes, notes, notes!
Dressing Room via 1 and 2 and edited with "jewel" illustrations
I've also been giving a lot of thought to
the dressing table to go into my new jewel box.

Dressing Tables via 1, 2 and 3

And I've come across some really great
storage ideas while doing my research,
such as these shoe storage boxes from Closet Fetish!
You can see your actual shoes through the sides!

So, after a lot of thought,
I decided that I want my dressing room
to feel like a high-end boutique!
Shopping is one of my favorite things
in the world!
It's no accident that some of the cards I've starred in
have shown me shopping in the city!

So ...
why not feel as if I'm shopping
when I step into my dressing room
each morning?

I love the way women's boutiques
display their clothing, accessories and lingeree!
I think I'll see if I can find someone
to create glam custom areas for my
purses, "after five" fashions, shoes ...
well ...  everything!

Something like this maybe!
With a little classical music playing in the background,
I'll feel like I'm in shopping heaven!
What do you think?
This should keep me busy this year!

Hey girls!
This is really fun ...
those of you that have been following the blog
probably know that I LOVE my
white marble kitchen with its oval window
in my city apartment
and that I LOVE LOVE LOVE baking!
(what a sweet hobby, right?)
So my thoughts
are all about what new thing I can gift my kitchen with
this new year and what I should do
with all of the delicious dessert recipes
I've created!

I'm always trying to bring
European details into my kitchen ...
would love to add a charming arched mirrored door like this ...
I wonder ... could I add a faux door?

Image via
And I'm in love with t-h-e most gorgeous
iron shelves I saw in a french kitchen design by
Mich De Giulio .. my heart literally fluttered  ...

so one of my resolutions is to find shelves
just like these for my kitchen!

Image via

As for my dessert recipes ...
I can totally see myself on the cover of a
cookbook someday, can't you?
My second resolution
is to start documenting all of my recipes this year ...
just in case!
Wouldn't that be exciting?

 Happy New Year, lovely girlfriends!
Okay ... my resolution ... let's see.
My schedule is soooo busy, I tend to neglect
taking time for myself ...
but not this year!

My resolution is to SCHEDULE in
personal time.
Yep ... right there on my calendar.
I have booked myself
a spa day at the end of every month of the new year!
What could be more relaxing than a day
at the Penninsula Spa in the city?

Don't you feel more relaxed just looking at the pictures?!

I've also done something
I've always wanted to do ...
signed myself up for a yoga class!

I feel pampered already!
What a way to begin a new year!!

Hey girls!
If you know about me,
you probably know I love anything to do with pools, beaches and summer.

So you're probably thinking that my resolution
most likely includes something about warm weather fun.
Image via

Well .... you're right!
There are so many beaches all over the world
that I'd like to travel to.
I thought for my new year's resolution,
I'd make my plans more real by
putting a pretty map in a frame
Map image via and edited by Sandy
and then mark each desired beach destination with a decorative pushpin.
I could use something whimsical like these ...

Image via

... and then after I've visited that beach,
I'd replace the bikini pushpin with a pretty "diamond" pushpin
like these from Paper Source...

Image via

Another idea is to use pretty magnets instead of pushpins
if you wanted to use a magnetic board in back of your map.
How gorgeous are these magnets from Tara's Closet?!
I'm ordering these for sure ... even for notes on the frig!

Image via

Now, all I'll have to do is decide
which beach to travel to first!
Do you like my new year's plan?
All I need are my shades and flipflops!
Oh .... I must not forget ... my umbrella drink!

We Ooh La Frou Frou girls
are so interested in hearing about
the resolutions you girls have made!
Drop us a comment and let us know!
Thanks so much for joining us for the
first post of 2011!
Come back next week to hear four more
Ooh La Frou Frou girl resolutions!
Kisses!

Welcome to the new year! Glad to see you all posting again. A great little post here, accompanied by none other than your amazing illustrations and photos. I would love to feel like I'm shopping out of my closet everyday (if only my wardrobe were big enough for that!). And those magnets are the most gorgeous magnets I have ever seen. Little notes to:

Angelica Ng: Yes, aren't those magnets divine? They actually call them tiny "magnetic drawer pulls" but I thought they'd be fabulous as magnets anywhere!! Thanks for stopping by, sweet thing!

Hope Ava: Hi lovely! I know, that first kitchen on Alex's post is the prettiest thing and has so many of the girlfriends sighing for it! I think the fact that it is simple and not cluttered is part of the charm ... that and the marble and arched door and glass cabinetry ... well, you know what I mean! Happy New Year, love! xo
