Will You Be Mine, Valentine? ... by Cherie

Happy
Less-Than-A-Month-Till-Valentine's Day
lovelies!
And such a "charming" holiday it is!

It fills your head with dreamy thoughts of
romance, chocolates, flowers, special gifts,
and finds us getting ready for a date night,
applying Valentine red lips,
adding a sultry spritz of perfume,
sliding into a pair of heels
for a dinner by flickering candlelight.
Of course, love letters are often involved.
If you're looking for inspiration
or perhaps a clever way to say
"Will You Be Mine ... Valentine,"
one of these books may help you find just the right
twist of a phrase.
You never know ...
a love letter may work even more magic than just the right
twist of an ankle.

I'm introducing TWO
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection Valentines
on today's post ... (so exciting!)
and they are available for purchase
NOW!
One is a Valentine to send to your love
and one is to send to your girlfriends!
Also ...
something very special from Ooh La Frou Frou ...
because we LOVE you!

You can order any of our cards
without being a blog follower, of course,
but we're offering a special treat
for Valentines Day!
Blog Followers are being given the opportunity
 to have their Valentines personalized
with their own words inside!
If you haven't followed the blog yet,
by all means, sweetie, scoot on over to the right column!
Ordering instructions are at the end of the blog post!

How do you celebrate
Valentine's Day?
I started a little something
a few years ago when I wasn't dating anyone
and it has remained a part of my Valentine's Day
EVERY single year, whether I'm dating someone or not!
I enjoy the luxury of it so much,
I know you'd love it too!
Think of yourself as your very own Valentine
FIRST and treat yourself with extra love
on Valentine's Day!
I fill my day with beauty and purchase a few treats for myself
because, seriously, who knows me better than ... me?
Then if I get Valentine surprises from someone else ...
it's simply icing on the cake.

Think of Valentine's Day as a love letter especially for
glamorous, wonderful you.

Pick up your favorite flowers for your nightstand
just because you ARE fabulous.

image via

then buy yourself some luxurious little treats
and wrap them in the most glamorous giftwrap or gift bag
such as this Boudoir Gift Bag
and leave your package on your nightstand
next to your flowers to open at the end of the day

Upon opening your gift(s),
you'll honestly be able to say ...
"It's just perfect!"
And believe me when I say
this will become one of your very favorite
Valentine's Day rituals EVERY year!

Our first Ooh La Frou Frou
Valentine's Day card is entitled
"Valentine Shopping"
and stars Ooh La Frou Frou girl Violet
shopping in the city!
It's a glamorous card to send to your girlfriends
to express the sentiment of treating yourself
on Valentine's Day!
Embellished with sparkling glitter and Swarovski crystals,
this charming card with pale pink paper inside reads

"Who says you can't buy love?
Happy Valentine's Day
glamour girl!"

Any ideas of what you will get your Special Someone
on Valentine's Day?
I'm curious to know
how you darling blog girlfriends
celebrate Valentine's Day with your loves.
A great way to celebrate with your boyfriend or husband is with a
 Valentine Scavenger Hunt.
This will be as much fun for you to plan
as it will be for your significant other to enjoy!
You've got plenty of time to put it together
by February 14!!

A Valentine Scavenger Hunt
works like any scavenger hunt, with gifts hidden in his car
and in the house when he gets home.
Notes are attached to the gifts,
giving a hint to where he might find the next gift.
I always start by purchasing several gifts for him ...
some small things he'd enjoy, some more significant.
One small gift that's a big hit is to make some
Valentine Fortune Cookies
(Martha Stewart has a great recipe).
They're easy to do
(shhh .. I let Ooh La Frou Frou girl Alex make mine!)
The fun part is that you get to make up the fortunes.

You can place the cookies in a colored chinese take-out container
with a ribbon tied to the handle that holds a note on a small card from you,
giving a hint where he might find his next gift.
(You can get boxes in a variety of colors.)

Image via

Scavenger hunts are great because you can repeat them
year after year with different themes ...
and you need not limit yourself to car and home
(although it's amazing how many places you can hide gifts at home ...
even the refrigerator)
You can even get creative and lead him all over town
to stores and restaurants that you've enlisted in the fun.
So ... put on your chic Valentine thinking cap,
good luck and happy planning!

Whatever you do for your Valentine,
be sure to send your love
a little fabulousness from Ooh La Frou Frou!
I star in our second card,
entitled "Heart You Valentine!"
My Valentine red dress is covered in glittery red hearts
and I'm sprinkling more love from my fingertips!

The pink paper inside the card says
"I So Heart You."

I love my sparkly heart dress!
Here's a little something else fun:
Did you like this Ooh La Frou Frou
"candy heart" at the beginning of the post?

You can have your OWN personalized heart!
Just go here and you'll be able to personalize
a Valentine candy heart to use as you wish!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Well love is in the air with Cherie. Your Heart You Valentine Card is a sparkly gorgeous love fest. I can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve for next Monday!

These cards are just darling! hmmm you've got me thinking!
I also love the love letters book, I have one that I bought centuries ago and I find letters to be an art form slowly being forgotten. A real love letter is far more precious to me than any jewelry my husband could give me. Well, unless it's Harry Winston! xo

Oh can't believe it's almost Valentines Day! Oh, I'm so excited! One of my fav days...not because I get things from my non-existent boyfriend (lol), but because of what it represents. Love. And who doesn't love love?

What great suggestions! All of these would be a wonderful gift...all so thoughtful.

Sandy your illustrations are so gorgeous. Unfortunately Valentines is not a big thing here in Spain. Nonetheless, I love your idea of treating yourself to an extra special day of pampering; very "oohlafroufrou!"

A note from Cherie to Vanessa@Luxuria:

Thanks for stopping by, sparkling jewelry girl! Thank you so much for your compliment on Sandy's illustrations .. I'll be sure to let her know! So, if Valentine's Day is not a big thing in Spain (poor baby!) do you have an equivalent day that's especially for lovers? Curious! Yes, taking a day to pamper yourself is just as much fun ANYTIME! xoxo
