Glamorous Review of Ooh La Frou Frou Girl Sunny ... Up Close!

Happy Monday,
all of you
Glamorous
Real-Life
Ooh La Frou Frou girls!
It's now the beautiful month of June
... the unofficial beginning of summer ...
and we're so glad it's here!

To celebrate June's arrival,
we've chosen our beach girl Sunny
to be the subject of the Glamorous Review this week.
If you're new to Ooh La Frou Frou, welcome!
The Ooh La Frou Frou Collection card line
stars eight fun, glamorous illustrated girls
and this blog is the magical place
where we look into their fantasy city adventures ...
don't we all need luxurious adventure in our lives?

We recently began a series of Glamorous Reviews
of each of the eight girls, taking a close-up look
at the details about each of them.
Ooh La Frou Frou girl Sunny
is Glamorous Review number six of the eight so far.
If you've missed one of the previous Reviews,
just click the names below to go to each girl's Review post
and see each girls oh-so-luxe city residence and more:
Hope ~ Tiffany ~ Cherie ~ Aimee ~ Belle

The first thing we'll discover about Sunny
is which Ooh La Frou Frou Collection cards
she's appeared on so far, below:
"Glamour Girls" (upper right in front of the bridal shop)
"Sweet News" (left in front of a Sweet Shop window)
and "Sunny Days" (lower right lounging by the pool).

Glamorous Ooh La Frou Frou girl Sunny is all about:
SUMMER.

She's adores:
~ beach and pool ~
~ sandals~
~ glamorous straw hats ~
and
~ umbrella drinks ~

She's all about:
~ melon-colored nail polish ~
~ sultry summer eyes ~
~ that summer glow ~
and
~ looking just so while poolside ~

Here's a little inspiration to help you get into a Sunny frame of mind ...
close your eyes ... can you feel the sand between your toes yet?

Now that we're starting to feel the sun on our backs
and the summer breeze in our hair,
let's take a quick look back at
~ Sunny's Previous Posts ~

~ Sunny's First Post ~

In this post,
Sunny introduced us to some oh-so-pretty swimwear from
the following designers:

Swimwear Designer One:
~ Get Undrest ~
This year at Undrest you'll see pretties like
the Biarritz Maillot below ... soft as the ocean waves ...

Swimwear Designer Two from Sunny's
"Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" post was:
~ Norma Kamali ~

And this summer from Norma Kamali ...
suits such as the C Mio suit with its striking design
will steal the show ...

And Swimsuit Collection Number Three
from Sunny's "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" post was:
~ Anthropologie ~

If you shop this summer at Anthropologie for swimwear ...
you'll find ooh-la-la pieces such as the lovely vintage-looking
~ Sunny's Second Post ~
was called

Where does Sunny live?
The main playground
for all of the girls of the card line is the city.
I chose New York as their home, of course,
because of the shopping, excitement and glamour ...
there's nowhere quite like New York!

But just as Ooh La Frou Frou girl Aimee
loves and frequently travels to
Paris ...
&
Ooh La Frou Frou girl Belle
is originally from the lovely
south
...

Sunny is a city girl
originally
from California.
Since Ooh La Frou Frou is all about glamorous fantasy,
whenever the winter weather is simply too much for Sunny,
she becomes a California Girl
until the weather starts behaving itself again!
I think we'd all like that lifestyle, don't you?
Her exciting apartment you'll learn about today
is her city apartment in New York.

In Sunny's "California Girl" post,
she mentioned that she loves the girls to visit her
when she's flies back to California.
These are two of the "California" things
the girls like to do together:

... shop, shop, shop on Rodeo Drive ...

... and drive around in Sunny's convertible
with wind in their hair, soaking in all of the sights ...
like the gorgeous homes of Beverly Hills ...

In the "California Girl" post,
she even showed us
how a California girl looks inconspicuous
if she finds a movie star or two sitting next to her
while doing lunch at "The Ivy" ...
she simply peers at them
ever-so-slyly

over big sunglasses ...

When back at home in New York, Sunny loves to spend
summer days at the beach and pool too ...
leisurely summer weekends at Long Beach and The Hamptons ...
too lovely, don't you think?

Are you wondering where Sunny lives in New York?

Sunny's a modern kind of girl.
I've chosen for Sunny
a glamorous co-op apartment in a luxurious hotel
with the view of Central Park:
The place she calls home is
The Mark
on the corner of 77th and Madison Avenue ...

Illustration of The Mark via

Can't you just see Sunny going to and from this elegant entrance?
And it's so very nice that it's also home
to the world's most famous hairstylist Frederic Fekkai ...
what could be more convenient .. a salon at your doorstep!

As you know,
I've been creating just a quick rough illustration
of the entrances of each of the girls' apartments
for their Glamorous Reviews and here's the quick sketch of
Sunny's glamorous entrance ...

~ And here's a little treat ~
I think you'll adore this little film
brought to us by The Mark called
"Life At The Mark"
as much as I do ...

The Mark, originally built in 1927, recently went through
a very avant-garde restoration by famous French designer

When you enter, you'll first be awed by the
dramatic graphic striping of the marble floors
and a dramatic black marble spiral staircase ...

You never know who you'll see in New York ...
scenes from the movie "Have You Heard About the Morgans"
starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant
were filmed at The Mark ...

The Mark has 118 rooms for guests and 42 luxurious co-op apartments.
Attention to detail is what The Mark is known for ...
the house staff is outfitted by Turnbull & Asser of London ...

If you were to visit Sunny at The Mark,
these are some of the things you'd enjoy:

A lovely view of Central Park ...
via

... monograms, monograms, monograms ...
via

... silky soft Frete Italian linens adorning the beds ...
via

... marble luxury in the baths ...
via

via

... not your ordinary mini-bar ...
(should we call it a maxi-bar?)

... and a dramatic glass floor-to-ceiling wine cellar
connecting the Restaurant to the Bar ...

Ahhhh, Sunny's glamorous life at The Mark.

~ Before I end this Glamorous Review on Sunny ~

The exciting set of twelve
Summer "City Girl" Boxed Notecards
that we've begun introducing card-by-card recently
star all eight of the girls
and will be available for purchase
next Monday ... June 13!
Their availability will be announced here on the
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection blog!
(box of 12 ~ 3 each of 4 designs)
The fourth notecard in this Collection will be
revealed in the June 13 post, as well!

Oh, yes
.....
a "little something extra" will be included in the package
to the first ten customers that order the notecards!
Following are the three notecard designs we've revealed so far
starring (L to R) Tiffany, Cherie, Belle, Sunny and Aimee:
All Ooh La Frou Frou Collection cards
can be purchased at our website:

~ But don't change your flipflops
for heels quite yet, darlings
~
We need the proper send-off for Sunny's beachy post,
don't you agree?
I want to keep you in Sunny's
"perpetual beach" frame-of-mind for a while
So that all of you, our darling real-life Ooh La Frou Frou girls,
can head back into your day humming a little beach tune!

Sunny introduced this link in her "California Girl" post ...
and we'd like to transport you once more
to the beachy fun world of
"Pistol Panties."
When you click on the link below,
you will instantly be sent to a beach scene ...
and you don't even have to buy airfare!
The longer you stay in the beach scene,
the more cute things you'll see pop up onto the beach
(like a little crab that skitters across the sand).
After you've enjoyed the first beach scene a bit,
take your mouse and click on the bathing suit-clad girl
standing on the far left side of the beach in front of the store.
You'll be transported to yet another fun beach scene
with more surprises!
It is in this second beach scene that you will see little
beach signs you can click on
and a fun display of their swimwear will appear.

Ready for your trip? Let's go!
And darling ... remember, we are glamour girls ...
don't forget your sunscreen!

Have a Very Glamorous and Sunny Week,
Lovelies!

Thankyou for another beautiful post Sandy.
Sunny is the girl I connect with the most, as I am a beach girl, living close to the beach in Australia. I love animals too, especially cats & horses.
I wonder if Sunny rides a horse in the waves.I can imagine her doing that too.
I did not want Sunny's post to end.
So love your skills.
Love Chelsi

Perfect for the heatwave in NYC right now! I adore those polka dot swimsuits, but the vintage one piece looked perfectly classic for summer. I already own a pistol panties bikini, so nice to see them here too!

Wonderful introduction to another spectacular hotel as always!

This is a fantastic recap of Sunny! From this, I can imagine her personality, passions, and preferences! That polka dot swimsuit is so fantastically unique! I would love to have a swimsuit like that. And I love the section with all the stripes. The floor might make your head spin after a while, but you can always relax in those luxury bathrooms! :D And my my, I must say, Hugh Grant is quite the man! ;)
