Just Another Supermodel Day

Our fans know ...
Ooh La Frou Frou is all about bringing you glamour.
We love creating a lush and exciting world for you to slip into,
whether it's with our glitter-and-crystal embellished cards
that feature the eight fun and glamorous illustrated girls ...
or here at the card line's fun and sumptuous weekly blog,
where we step into the fantasy city adventures
of the girls of the Ooh La Frou Frou Collection.

Last week,
we got a first glimpse of
the Dior-inspired bedroom for
Ooh La Frou Frou girl Hope ...
and some of you mentioned that you
took away some of the ideas from Hope's design
for your own glamorous bedrooms.
So perfectly fun ...
especially if you're like Hope and love to visit
beautiful luxurious boutiques ...
just to soak in the beauty ...

we'll leave Hope and her new bedroom
in her fantasy upper-east-side apartment building
and head a few blocks south
to the beautiful St. Regis Hotel.

If we were to walk through the St. Regis' dramatic doors ...

and step into the lobby ...

... we just may hear the elevator ping
and see Ooh La Frou Frou's supermodel, Cherie,
stepping out and walking quickly past us to flag a cab ...
Let's follow her as she gets heads to a glamorous photoshoot ...

As Cherie's taxi picks her up, we thought we'd
show you a little map of her neighborhood.
The St. Regis is right at 55th Street and Fifth Avenue,
down in the lower right hand corner of our map.
You can see how she could just walk out her door,
take a stroll down Fifth Avenue
and have fabulous shops at her fingertips ...

Cherie represents the supermodel in all of us ...
you know what we mean ...
the glamorous woman in us that appears on the days
when our hair is perfect and we're hearing
our own little theme song in our mind?

After all, we are the star of our own life movie ...
shouldn't we imagine the most glamorous of scenes?

Cinemagraph Credit: Jamie Beck (Photographer) and Kevin Burg (Motion)

Cherie is whisked away into make-up and
spends the day in various poses for the photoshoot.
She is then made "bigger than life" for the fantasy magazine pages.
You may have seen photos of the positively
ethereal Elie Saab Fall 2011 Haute Couture Collection ...
it sparkles as if the pieces are lit.
These gowns are pure confection and the stuff of dreams,
so they were just perfect for a Cherie photoshoot.
Elie Saab drew his inspiration for this collection
from the sun's rays, how the city's skyscrapers
are clad in its shimmering reflection.

Below is the result of Cherie's fantasy
Ooh La Frou Frou photoshoot.
She is illustrated bigger than life in a handful of the
Elie Saab gowns
walking along the rooftops,
with her arms wrapped around the sparkling city that she loves.

We thought you might like to watch the Elie Saab video
of the Haute Couture Fall 2011 Collection
to see if you can identify the dresses that Cherie
posed in ....

Have a perfectly lovely week, darlings ...
from myself, Sandy, the artist of Ooh La Frou Frou,
and all eight of our glamorous illustrated girls! xo

Kristina at Beancakes: Thank you for such lovely compliments, Kristina ... what better thing to do with your life than to create something that brings bliss! It's fun to create a world of fantasies ...if I'm creating reflection of our dreams, why not make them delicious, right? Thanks again ~ so appreciate it! xoxo

Stitchfork: Wow ... a week as glam as my lovely ladies would be quite a week ... I like to live vicariously through them! ;) Thanks so much, sweetie, I hope your week is divine, as well! xoxo

Fashionista622: haha .. I LOVE giving you your Monday Luxe fix ... what a perfect way to describe it ;) So glad you enjoyed the illustrations .. what's really funny is that I thought the Elie Saab gowns were just so beautiful and sparkly, and we know I love the sparkle of the city ... so I thought I'd combine the two for mega sparkle. It was after that that I read what Elie Saab's inspiration was and I was amazed that our minds ran along the same lines! ;) xoxo

Flara: Flara, so happy to meet you and a warm welcome as one of our newest followers of Ooh La Frou Frou on Bloglovin! I'll be looking forward to chatting with you more in the future! xoxo

Ruby@RubysMusings: Glad you love that illustration, Ruby. There's just something magical about the image of a girl sitting on a bridge as if it were a swing and sparkles falling from her fingertips. Thanks so much for stopping by, darling. xoxo

Taj Acosta: Hi lovely Taj! I agree .. who wouldn't want a little of the girls' fun fantasy life ... at least we can dream! ;) Thanks so much for the compliment on the illustrations, Taj ;) Have a lovely week, darliing! xoxo

Classiq: Hello Ada! Hope you're having a wonderful week .. I agree, Coco's so lovely! It's so funny that when I decided to do have Cherie modeling Elie Saab and place her bigger than life in the city (because of the sparkle of both) I only read after I created the illustrations that his inspiration was how the sun reflects o the buildings, so it was a very happy coincidence! Thanks so much for stopping by ;) xoxo

Fashion_isha: Hi sweetie! Thanks so very much for the sweet compliments ... it's very fun creating a fantasy world with eight personalities ... so much fun to be had for these illustrated girls! ;) Have a wonderful week, darling ~ xoxo

Karena: Hi Karena, sweet. So nice of you to stop by! Always a pleasure ~ thank you for your compliment of the illustration on the bridge. The clothes are so beautiful, it was just too tempting not to do a post featuring the fabulous Elie Saab! xoxo

Vanessa at Luxuria: Hi Vanessa! It seems that Cherie on the bridge is the very favorite ... I wonder if it's because I drew sparkles falling from her fingertips and that looks kind of dreamy maybe! Thanks for the compliment, darling .. xoxo

Dale: Thanks for stopping by, sweetie ... I bet all of the St. Regis Hotels are beautiful, don't you? Beautiful hotels are one of my very favorite things ... talk about pampering ;)

Mary Jo at Trust Your Style: Hi Mary Jo! Thank you so much. I enjoyed doing the little map illustrations too ... they were actually an afterthought after the other illustrations were created and I started putting the post together! ;) xoxo

Kristin: Thank you so very much, Kristin. They were fun to do (as always, of course) ... you have to put yourself in the location mentally in order to do the illustrations, so I get to travel a lot ... to the tops of buildings, in this case! ;) xoxo

Debby: What better compliment could there be than that, Debby ... thank you so much! ;) xoxo

Veronika: Hi sweetie! Thank you so very much, you're always so adorable and such a doll! Why don't you DM me your e-mail and I'll get back to you re: illustrations. ;) xoxo

Well I almost switched allegiance from Tiffany to Hope in this post (no, no I remain a Tiffany kinda gal!) The Ellie Saab designs were just amazing this year, dreamy gowns for glamorous evenings out. Hope wears them well. I love the last drawing over the bridge... wonderful art here :)
