Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice

Sweet news,
Ooh La Frou Frou City Girls ...
don't you love how we
fell asleep in February a few days ago
and woke up in March?
And a new month means we're now one step closer to
SPRING.
 Sweet news, indeed!

As you know,
the posts here on the CG blog
are filled with glamorous fantasy ...
because dreams are where inspiration begins ...
and with inspiration, magic happens.
Sometimes the posts are a fantasy ride to
another place with an Ooh La Frou Frou Novelette;
sometimes we bring you the
introduction of a chic new CG card;
 and sometimes ...
sometimes we just bring you something
very, very glamorous and pretty
to make you're day a little more fabulous.
This is one of those times.

  I've been designing the
Ooh La Frou Frou City Girls Easter card
and it will be introduced here on the blog next week.
Designing a spring card makes me feel as if
spring is right around the corner.
I find that I'm in the mood for that
sweet spring smell in the air
and all things pastel.

It is for this very reason that I felt inspired this week
to dip my watercolor brush into the sweet pastel world
of the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2012 Advertising Campaign.

When the Louis Vuitton advertising campaign
was introduced last fall, spring was far, far away ...
and we still had to get through winter!
It was a little hard to get in the mood for spring
at that time, don't you think?

Now that we're actually
on the doorstep of the spring season,
I felt we couldn't really let spring approach
without opening the door and stepping into the
LV Ice Cream Parlor again ...
this beautiful campaign and the breathtaking
Paris fashion show with its glorious carousel
always makes me think of childhood and sunshine
and dressing up in the spring ... with crisp dresses
and lace and carrying baskets of pastel candy.

You may not have seen the video on the making this
sugary work of advertising campaign art ...
I would have loved to have been one of the models,
how about you?
To make the video full screen,
be sure to click the four-arrow symbol
located before the word Vimeo
and then hit escape to come right back.

I love the song from this video so much
that it's my new ringtone!
{Sugar Me by Lynsey De Paul}
Sexy as well as Sweet!

All of this Louis Vuitton sweetness
made me want to accent the fabulous LV images
with even more images
of some delectable sweet treats ...
so perfect for a little fantasy party
and LV Fashion Show
in celebration of the nearness of spring!
You're all invited ... come on in.
And I must ask ...
which of these dresses would you be wearing?

Flowers may not be poking their heads up yet,
but we can have a flower cupcake and
dream of the sweet spring days soon to come ...

I can just feel the warmth of sunshine
lighting up the room in this confection ...
can't you?

Rose cupcake anyone?

I almost wouldn't want to touch this beautiful cake ...
it's made up of 150 individual petals
and it took four people two days to hand-make-and-paint
the pieces ... a white Meyer lemon cake
complemented by papaya and blood-orange buttercream filling ...
did you notice I said almost wouldn't want to touch it?
May I cut you a piece to go along with
a glass of bubbles?

Mmmmm ... delicious ...
the fashion and the sweet treats!

This clutch is so adorably whimsical ... is it a flask? a clutch?

What would a spring party be without chocolate?
The chocolate deliciousness below is from
San Francisco pastry shop, Miette ...

... I discovered Miette's beautiful pastry cookbook the other day ...
no detail was left untouched ...
the pages are even charmingly scalloped ...

Do you think she's asking "which bag would you choose?"

Miniature cotton candy on a stick ...

Fizzzz ...

Aren't these dresses magical?

Thanks for dropping by this week
for our "sweet" pre-spring post ...
The perfect finish is a ride on a carousel ...
let's head to that magnificent Paris fashion show ...
how beautiful it must have been to be there in person!
And I love the way the lights of the carousel turn colors
at the very end of the fashion show.
{once again, don't forget to make it full-screen!}
It's all very dreamy and
Very Ooh La Frou Frou City Girl.
Happy March lovelies!
