Sparkle Away

How does it happen?
It begins very slowly.
After an afternoon of sun sparkling on the water,
it suddenly fades into an evening with a chill in the air ...

... and before you even realize what is happening ...
you notice a lone leaf that you'd swear was
green just yesterday ...
lying at your feet,
 sparkling with a new season's color ...

... and now that those colorful leaves have all fallen
and Thanksgiving is just a blink away ...
my mind has already started
walking down the path
to the sparkliest time of year of all ...
has yours?

Maybe it has something to do with being
seriously deficient in the warm and fuzzy home feeling
since we've been renovating the new house all summer
and it's been rather chaotic ...
and the fact that just this last week,
the drywall dust settled long enough
for me to paint the first room
(the library)
and my husband to
hang the first chandelier on the ceiling ...
and I was so excited I couldn't
slap the smile from my face all weekend!
So ... it's started me dreaming of
decorating for the upcoming Christmas season!
(I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, what am I thinking?)
This is the earliest I've been
in such a sparkly holiday mood
in a long time!
Are you? Or am I sparkling alone?

If you're sparkling already too,
let's just enjoy every minute of it ...
what the heck, when the first snowflakes come,
I just may make a snow angel this year!
Let's get ready ...
have a wonderful week
and sparkle away, lovelies!

I'm not sure I was really in a Christmas sparkly mood until I read your post but these images have certainly helped! I like your illustration of the Chanel polish - I definitely want my nails to sparkle this December. I love that long cardigan in the first photo - warm and glamorous too.

LOVE this post Sandy especially as this is my first Christmas in the UK for 12 years. Similar weather to that which you write about has also got me thinking of decorating + sparkles long before anyone else ;-) The images are gorgeous as always Sandy.
Have a lovely week Sweets xx

Sandy, I love what a visual feast your posts always are--this one is sparkly and that's my weakness, so it was extra fun to read. Hope you are having a wonderful November!

I feel sparkly too Sandy!Every year I make Christmas start a little earlier, because I love Christmas' spirit, carols and movies. So I'm already singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and my whole family just has to put up with it. I love your illustrations.Right now I can't afford to invest in a blog restyle, though I would be happy to promote your work if you send me some info by email.Big kisses Coco
