INSPIRED: PAPER DOLL LIFE

Have you ever imagined what you'd look like
as a paper doll?

How would you imagine your hair styled?
What pose would you be in?
Which outfits would you choose for your paper-doll self?
Maybe you'd even go so far
to create a backdrop of a chic room to pose in ...
and let's not forget all of the accessories that would make up your
paper-doll life.
It's rather inspiring to imagine yourself not as your real self
but as a paper self ... with paper clothes ... and paper accessories.

Do you think that by letting ourselves
dream of what we'd choose to wear in a paper-doll world,
it may just open up a world of ideas
and styles that we may just want to keep an eye out for
in our real-life world?
Here's just a sample of pretty things I might choose
for my paper-doll self ...

Leopard Sunnies ...
via

Soft Pleats

via

Bows ...

via

This Dior Skirt ...

via

A Little Chanel ...

via

This Lovely Mimosa Bandeau Maillot
(because it looks like it's splashed with watercolor) ...

via

Some pointy toes ...

And For My Paper-Doll Fingers ...

Of Course, Something Pink ...

And since we're dreaming ...
when my paper-doll self is dressed in a sparkling paper-doll evening gown ...
I'd probably be walking up these paper-doll stairs ...

via
And, of course, when I left,
I'd leave in this paper-doll car ...
perfect, don't you think? Haha!

via

Thanks for joining me for a little inspiration this week, loves ...
I hope your week is paper-doll perfect!
I hear we're supposed to have temps in the mid-80's here by mid-week ...
and that would be just the perfect temperature ...
I couldn't think of anything more perfect,
even in a paper-doll life!

See you next Monday!

Good Morning, Sweet, you are my Monday pleasure:-)
You can't imagine, how I loved those dolls as a child. We are similiar in our wishes for our doll. I wanna have LOTS of paper Louboutins! And I am sooooo in love with the Dior bag, you showed here and yes a Dior skirt is a Musthave for me, too! And please a choice of new hairstyles. I let my hair grow and I am so unhappy with my hair in the moment. So I want to have long hairs with natural waves and some big hats and lots of sparkling necklaces.
I saw the perfect stairs in a magazine. A black and white room and a lilac carpet on the stairs and a big chandelier...
I could dream a little bit longer but it's time to start my day. The twins are in school and Tiffy lies warm and cuddly on my knees, so I don't wanna stand up:-)
Thank you for this wonderful daydream. A perfect start into a Monday morning.
XO Ines

I love paper dolls! I use to play with them all the time as a child. Of course they were more magnetic by then! HaHaHa And I also had Fashion Plates. Ohhhh the endless possibilities. To have that in real life would be amazing. Of course it would have to have more than one side ;) Have a great week Sandy!

Sandy, you brought back happy memories of the hours I spent dressing paper dolls as a little girl trying to make the clothes stay on and mixing and matching the outfits! Then I started to make little outfits for my Sindy dolls. A cute post - love the illustrations and the leopard sunglasses are so glam.
PS Thank you for your visit and sweet comment. So glad you enjoy my little adventures. A traditional cream tea is a regular pot of tea (with a jug of milk) seved with scones, jam and clotted cream - delicious!

Good morning dearest! :) I am so in love with this post. I grew up playing with old Hollywood movie star paperdolls & have since loved them. I believe that is where I had my first introduction into haute couture. Sigh....My paperdoll self would have plenty of couture as well as vintage. Oh! And lots of wigs to go w/all of my fab outfits. Lol! Cute post sweetie. Much affection!

Bonjour Mon Ami ... life has been a roller coaster - of renos at our city home; getting the gardens ready at our country home- little time for writing, blogging or visiting - but finally things are coming together and I'm catching up - while preparing to take the Mr. away for his Bday.

Your post was perfect timing - sometimes we do need to step away from our self ... to discover and create our self. Love the paper doll idea.

enjoyed all the poodle photos and your latest illustrations are as brilliant as always!! Wishing you a beautiful week..xo Blessings, C. (HHL)

Love the post Sandy! To be honest this paper dolls post actually brought back memories of my childhood. I remember loving my paperdolls and changing their outfits. Sometimes I would make my own to change things up. Thanks for the reminder via this great post! Hope you are enjoying the nice weather. NY has been chilly but we are getting one or two days in between that are milder. xoxo

I love this post! I used to play endlessly with my paper dolls and I definitely wished I could dress myself like them. How incredible would that be! Yours is so fabulously glam just as I would expect :)

Thanks for checking up on me and for your very kind words of support Sandy! I'm feeling a little better each week and I hope to make a full recovery soon.

Hope you're having a great week dear lady!

Ooh, love this Sandy! I collect fashion paper dolls from time to time {my latest acquisition is Zandra Rhodes} and at one time I was writing a book that came with paper dolls but I've never stopped to consider what I'd want my paper doll to look like--just love how your mind works! Hope one day you will do mine :)

Loving your paper doll, very glamourous! Of course I've dreamt of my own doll outfits and accessories as a child! I still remember a pair of jordache jeans my barbie had that were so chic! I'm pretty sure those early style fittings I had with her influenced my life in fashion!
And I can totally relate to your comment about your house and wanting to have it all done! It's been so hard waiting to find the right pieces and not rush into purchases, not to mention the budget! Hope you're week is going well! xx -Taj

Just a little answer to your comment:
I hope, you have success with planting and beautifing your garden. Our house is only rented. We had a own house, but my husband got a new job and we had to sell it before moved. So we decided to rent until we know, that we will stay. So I have lots of flowers in pots. All the ornamental grasses and bushes we plant I will miss when we leave this house one day. You can find lots of houses, but a garden is in your heart. Though I wish sometimes, to live in a penthouse wirh a big roof terrace, cause it's soooo much work.
So I wish you a relaxing weekend!
Love, Ines
