Have Yourself a Sparkly Little Christmas

Hello Ooh La Frou Frou Girls!

This week is the second post in our
series of holiday fun ...
and since this is the home of the
Ooh La Frou Frou illustrated City Girls,
we decided it would be very appropriate to
feature the fabulous holiday windows
of a New York City store
each week leading up to Christmas!
This week ...
it's the windows of
one of New York's more sparkly stores ...
Tiffany & Company!

We can't talk about Tiffany & Company
without thinking of a certain
illustrated Ooh La Frou Frou girl  ...

If you're new to Ooh La Frou Frou,
Tiffany is one of the eight
illustrated city girls that star in the
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection card line and its blog ...
Tiffany loves Audrey Hepburn style,
so, of course, she loves all things Tiffany & Company.
Are you a Tiffany?

If you are, you may have seen a little of yourself
in the glamorous Summer City Girl notecard
that we introduced earlier this year ...
in it we see Tiffany being rather "Audrey"
peering in Tiffany's window...

Ohhhh, and by the way ...
~ speaking of notecards ~
if you think the excitement of winter
ends with the holidays, oh noooooo, darling ...
 the Winter City Girls
will be romping through the snow in the city
long after the holidays!
To brighten your winter days, the
Winter City Girls Notecards
will be coming your way approximately
 the end of January!

Ready for a little fantasy?
Let's imagine for a just a moment that YOU are
Ooh La Frou Frou girl Tiffany ...
you live in the city
in a fantasy townhouse that
looks suspiciously like Audrey Hepburn's townhouse
of Breakfast at Tiffany's
~ only it's better ~
because your door, trim and awnings are
Tiffany blue
(how pretty would that door look with greenery
and sparkling lights around it?) ...

If you were Tiffany, your holiday
cookies just might look like this ...

And how would you decorate your
Christmas tree?
I would think a city girl like Tiffany
might start out with a
Tiffany blue one ...

And I imagine that she wouldn't be putting
just any old garland on it ...
I think that
maybe just maybe
the garland would look more like ...
 this?

... and ...
perhaps some strands of these? ...

... and since the tree decorating
started out so glamorously,
regular Christmas ornaments just wouldn't do ...
how about these for ornaments?

... and as a finishing touch, we might as well
tuck plenty of these on the tree here and there ...

Ohhhh to dream ...
and that would surely be a tree of dreams!

Before we move on to
the Tiffany & Company holiday windows,
some of you may have at home or know of some cute
mini-Tiffanys (aka Audreys) ...

... and if you do, she would more than likely
be so excited to receive one of these sweet books
wrapped in Tiffany blue paper under the tree ...
(I know a few of us grown-up Tiffany girls
may want one of these too) ...
they're available at Anthropologie ...

Now, let's take a peek at Tiffany's holiday windows ...
Tiffany windows are all about the carousel this year
and the carousels tops can be seen before you even reach the store!
They're stunning ... whether it's by day ...

or night ...

If you stand close enough to gaze inside,
this is a little of the magic you will see ...

... Tiffany in miniature on the right ...

Step inside this video and walk into NYC and see
how the Tiffany windows appear to passersby ...

and now something special  ...

Delightful Mornings and Glamorous Nights

Our story begins today
not too far from Central Park,
at the lovely Le Parker Meridien Hotel
on West 56th Street.

On any given morning,
while some enjoy the view from high above
the city streets in their Le Parker Meridien suite ...

...  others are walking by at street level.
If this should be you,
if you listen very closely,
you may just hear a certain
"Chocolate Decadence French Toast"
whispering your name and beckoning you
to enter the Le Parker Meredien
and make your way to a restaurant
called Norma's.

Should you choose to enter the hotel,
 you'd be greeted by a
white marble hotel lobby
that would usher you up the few stairs to Norma's ...
the place that makes little bits of heaven for brunch ...

Norma's brunch experience is a well-known delight.
Pricey?  Ahhhhhh, yes.
But, this is Ooh La Frou Frou, darling,
where we always take you away to a world of luxurious fun!

The wait for such a delicious beginning to your day
can be an hour or more, but the Le Parker Meridien
has the perfect solution to the problem of such a wait ...
in the lobby, if you follow the scent of heavenly coffee,
you'll wind up at the Knave Espresso Bar ...

... during the evening, this Espresso Bar is about cocktails
and a little sultry bossa nova ... a fabulous backdrop
to that slinky little dress you bought.

But, in the morning, with the sun streaming in a lobby entrance ...
... you can sit and enjoy a delicious
hot chocolate made from ganache
(oh yes, I did say ganache)
or perhaps a delicate croissant and cappuccino
with a foamy elaborate latte art on top
while you wait for that divine breakfast at Norma's ...
This luxurious little introduction to Norma's and Knave
in the Le Parker Meridien,
brings us to our glamorous
Ooh La Frou Frou story for this week ...

Let's start, shall we? ....

If you were seated in a chair close to the girls,
you just might hear this snippet of conversation ...

Hope is explaining something excitedly to Violet and Alex
as Tiffany walks up ...
 "... sophisticated and gorgeous ...
with a shot of glamorous fun ... "
Tiffany joins the group, stirring sugar into her cappuccino ..
"Is that the description of your perfect guy, Hope?"
Hope answers with a wry smile ...
"Not a bad idea, Tiff, darling.  I'll make a note
to keep an eye out for someone of that description!"
Violet is enjoying keeping Tiffany guessing ...
"Any other guesses what she was talking about, Tiff?
"Hmmmmm, Tiffany says ...
sophisticated and gorgeous and glamorous fun ...
is it a new dress? Knowing you, Hope,
it must involve shopping ..."
Alex couldn't contain a laugh ....
"Actually, Tiff, you're sort of right ... "

The girls are finally called in to their
luxurious brunch at Norma's.
While their tall, slim glasses of fresh-squeezed orange juice
are refreshed repeatedly by elegant waiters all around,
Hope fills Tiffany in on her little comment.
It seems Hope was talking about a fun new little project ...
and it's a project that's a fantasy for many of us!
Hope has sold all of her previous
bedroom furniture and accessories
and is starting over from scratch ...
she wants her new bedroom to be
sophisticated and gorgeous ...
with a shot of glamorous fun ...
and , of course, she'd like decorating suggestions from the girls ...

So, with her decorating notes in hand,
Hope and her poodle Olive head out for some
serious shopping in the city ...
she's looking for paint, a rug, a bed, nightstands,
a desk, a chair, accessories ... well, everything!
And, of course, if she finds some earrings along the way ...

Several shopping trips later,
Hope has found some fabulous things.
But ... she has one dilemma.
she can't decide on which bed she loves most.
She's narrowed it down to five...
any suggestions, Glamorous Girlfriends?
Let Hope know whether you love "1 "2" "3" "4" or "5" the most!

Thanks, lovelies, for joining us
this week on Ooh La Frou Frou
for Hope's "Day and Night" post.
We've seen a decadent way to start the "Day" ...
and as for those glamorous New York nights ...

via

we learned of Hope's glamorous "Nights" dream
of a bedroom that's sophisticated and gorgeous
with a touch of fun!

Come back next week to see a sketch of
Hope's decorated bedroom
and the bed that she has chosen, with your help!
Don't forget to leave us a comment
and tell us which bed you like best!
We can't wait to hear!
Have a lovely week!

Ooh La Frou Frou Girl Tiffany ... Close Up!

Hello, Darlings!
It's Sandy, the artist and creator of
the Ooh La Frou Frou Collection.
This week on Ooh La Frou Frou,
it's week two in our fun series of eight posts
recapping the details of the eight stars of the
card line and blog ...
can you decide which girl is most like you?

We began last week with fab recap number one
featuring Ooh La Frou Frou girl HOPE.
If you missed it, be sure to check it out here!
In each of the eight posts, you will get to see
something new ... where each girl lives!
Last week, we first saw Hope's "City Girl" apartment.

Today's post is the second in our recap series,
featuring our logo girl Tiffany ...

To describe Tiffany, I'd say ....
she's a modern-day Audrey Hepburn.

Like Holly Golightly,
Tiffany has a very dreamy favorite hangout ...
Fifth Avenue's Tiffany and Company, of course!
Like Audrey, she has a very classic style.
I'd call her signature style "modern classic."
She takes a little of Audrey's style and adds a modern twist.
She loves to wear classic pieces ...
adores
Chanel, Givenchy and Dior.
And her favorite color is ...
tiffany blue, of course!

So far, you've seen Tiffany in two cards ...
"Glamour Girls" (right, below),
a card for a bride to give to her glamorous bridesmaids
and, most recently, our Easter card,
"Easter Whimsy" (below left) ..
but, ooh, do we have a surprise for you ...
coming up in this post!

A quick look at the posts Tiffany has been in thus far ...

At the beginning of the holiday season,
she brought you to the city "virtually,"
taking you front and center at Macy's Thanksgiving parade
and inviting you to walk with her to see the 2010 holiday windows
and share her love of the Rockefeller Center tree ...

in another post, she described her romance with
Tiffany and Company ...

and shared with you her dressing room chair in tiffany blue
with "diamond" upholstery tacks ...

and in her most recent post, we watched as she
spent the day walking all over the city ...

and later arriving back at her apartment, kicking off her shoes
and spending the evening IN for a little spa-relaxation,
imagining the sound of the sea as she soaked ...

One of our Glamorous Girlfriends from a
lovely French blog called "Soapy Mermaid" tagged us to list
ten things we enjoy ... thank you "Soapy Mermaid" ...
and since this post is featuring Tiffany,
we'll list ten things that are on Tiffany's current "wish list" ...
from Tiffany and Company ... of course!

1. She'd love the sweet Fifth Avenue Box to hold her nightstand trinkets...
2. She's in bangle-love ... these are so beautiful ...
3. Tiffany charms are simply the cutest
and they make Tiffany happy just to look at them ...

4. Who wouldn't love a pink leather journal called "Kisses?"
or a diary with a heart lock for those secret notes? ...

5. She'd love a little Tiffany and Co. on her finger everyday ...
6. And the Tiffany keys look fabulous on a silk scarf ...
7. She can never have enough pearls around her neck,
and the gorgeous Tiffany Pearls scarf is a new way to wear them ...
8. She's in love with the Savoy clutch ...
I mean, just look at the clasp ...
and it's tiffany blue inside!

9. The Tiffany Elsa Peretti Pink Cultured Pearl Bracelet
is a pretty way to combine pink and pearls ...
and
10. Is there a girl alive that wouldn't love a gorgeous ring
especially if it's called "Sugar Stacks?"
So sweet!

Thank you, lovely Soapy Mermaid,
for giving Tiffany the opportunity to share
some of the things she enjoys!

Now ...
are you wondering where Tiffany lives?
When it came time for me to design Tiff's apartment,
what could be more perfect for Tiffany
than walking up to an apartment in a townhouse
that looks like Holly Golightly's in Breakfast at Tiffany's?
You remember ... the lovely white one with the green arched door
and classic striped awnings ...

Here, George Peppard is just approaching and looking up at
the oh-so-famous abode ...

and here it is again, directly behind her ...

The townhouse exterior filmed in the movie
is still in New York ...
it's awnings disappeared a couple of years ago,
but it's still recognizable.
It stands at 169 East 71st Street,
on the East Side, New York.

I didn't want to give Tiffany
Holly Golightly's actual apartment ...
but she lives in one that looks suspiciously like its twin ...
but even better ... in Ooh La Frou Frou's fantasy world,
where all of our dreams come true,
the awnings don't have to come down.
And even better yet ...
they're a pretty tiffany blue!
Here's a quick rough sketch I made of
Tiffany's apartment ... don't you want to come visit?

And I think I've found just the perfect chair by Modani for her entry ...
don't you agree?

I'm going to finish our lovely dream of a Tiffany post
with something very special for you.
First, to get us ready,
let's glimpse the opening scene from
Breakfast at Tiffany's, where Holly
stands gazing into the window of Tiffany and Company.

Ooh La Frou Frou girl Tiffany
loves to gaze in the windows, as well.
Last week, I mentioned that in just a few weeks
Ooh La Frou Frou's first boxed blank notecards will be available.
Our first boxed notecards will be called "City Girls" and will include
 12 notecards ~ 4 different designs and
will be introduced and available soon!
Each week leading up to their introduction and availability,
I will be giving you a little sneak peak
of the glamour that is "City Girls" ...

It's my pleasure to introduce
the first of the four notecards included in
"City Girls" ...
made especially for all of you
Audreys at heart that love
the sparkle of jewels!
This is no ordinary notecard.
Like a painting in miniature, it comes complete
with crystals on the chandeliers and jewelry ...

All four notecard designs will come with a different
custom-lined envelope design ...
these are the illustrations I've created for
the Tiffany notecard envelope liner ...

Thanks, everyone, for joining me for the Tiffany Recap ...
Be sure to join us next week for Recap Week Three ...
which girl will it be?
Oh ...  and yes ... there will be the sneak preview of the second
"City Girl" notecard design!

Have a wonderful week
from Ooh La Frou Frou!
