Pretty

~ Pretty ~

How important pretty is to you?
In my world it's much more than
pretty important.
It's not frivolous ... it colors my world.
The simple fact of whether or not
I am surrounded by pretty on any given day
effects how I feel, how inspired I am,
how much energy I have,
what I create.
And I'm very aware of it.

In the world of form vs. function,
my vote always falls with form,
for if the right form {pretty} isn't there ...
I don't function quite as well.
Do you?

In my life made up of days
and days made up of  hours
and hours made up of a collection of
~ small moments ~
I like the challenge of looking for ways
as I decorate my new home
to make those moments
as pretty as possible.
Something to make me excited for the day,
excited for a luxurious shower,
excited about what I will wear,
excited about breakfast.

There are many, many pretty things
that bring me joy ... following are a few things that
I find always add prettiness to my days
and in turn make me feel contented and happy
when I'm surrounded by them ...

An organized nightstand,
since it's the first thing I see in the morning ...

A serene bedroom with clean, fresh bed linens ...

Instead of wire hangers ...

Adding a new seasonal pretty thing
to my closet to look forward to ..

Artfully arranged vignettes ...

My eye finds balanced groupings
 pretty and pleasing ...

... and, of course, fresh flowers ...

These are just a few of the pretty things
that I plan on placing throughout the house
to make my days just that much nicer ...
what are some pretty things
that make your days happier?

By the way, I was interviewed recently
by the lovely Vanessa of

I'm finally managing to catch up on blogs having had a busy few weeks on holiday etc. I too love to be surrounded by pretty things - fresh flowers make such a difference. What a gorgeous, calm and relaxing bedroom with an amazing chandelier.

Sandy, I totally agree with you. If things are out of order or not "pretty" my day or even week for that matter can be totally thrown off. I try not to keep much around and as simplistic as possible. I believe in charming bedrooms and bathrooms. Always have! Charming bath products, a beautiful bedset and candles have always been at the top of my list. As women, we each must do things to keep us happy and fulfilled. You need that! Wonderful post and Wishing you a fabulous week.

Ah, pretty, yes! Forget hot and sexy, I long for pretty and beautiful. Liking to focus on interior design here...if only my house were that immaculate.

Therefore I adore all pretty things as wonderful arrangements, fresh flowers, unique decorations which reminds of beautiful paintings. I need all these pretty arrangements made with love to be in a good relaxed but powerful mood and to feel the balance. I'm a perfectionist and aesthete. Thanks for sharing your thoughts sweetheart!
